Pretty much settled on a structure for my website. Everything is in place. The main page can be changed to any number of ones at random. (Click 'Mutate This Page' repeatedly to see this in action). The scripts are all running perfectly, the cgi-bin is working like a dream, the permissions are set and a damn fine use of robots exclusion protocol means that - get this - I'm ranking first place in Google, Yahoo and Hotbot for my index page. One week after submission! Not bad at all.
