I need to get up early tomorrow to go to Germany. I’m doing a show over there in a place near Stuttgart. It’s a solo show; it’s called EYEaginstEYE and I just tried to send the mailout to everyone. But alas, the server seems to be misconfigured and it just flooded my inbox with 154 Unroutable Mail messages.    I just spammed myself. But there’s no time to fix it because I need to get to bed and get some sleep. On a more successful note, I noticed that the site just passed quarter of a million hits. That’s since August when I rebuild everything, so that’s quite good.

Okay, so I got sidetracked just as dead animal photograph week was taking off. It’s a matter of opinion whether or not this is a good thing or a bad thing. In the meantime, I’ve been fiddling with some random junk. The newest thing is a random image-getting thing that I’m pretty pleased with.

Today I’ve got another nasty hangover. The worst one in a while actually. I was at the Institute for Jim’s show and I ended up going to the party afterwards. My goodness, am I hungover.

I’ve noticed that I’ve got really bad at being sick recently. I puked last night and it took ages. I don’t mean that it took long to actually vomit, it’s just that there was a lot more waiting about than normal. Usually, I just roll up my sleeves, take a deep breath, and get it over and done with; then that’s it, I’m reset- free to pass out or carry on drinking. I’m not used to waiting around for waves of nausea to run their course. It’s boring. So in the end I put my finger down my throat and blaaaaaaaaaah blah blah, you get the picture… I puked what looked very much like the contents of a bag of red sea anemones.

And so today I am missing the annual scout fair thing. I should be down there buying cheap ZX Spectrums and hotdogs… but instead I am in bed feeling like I’ve just had electroconvulsive therapy.

Okay, so that’s September out of the way. Good.

I’ve finally managed to fix up the weblog problems I was having… as usual the details are pretty boring but suffice to say that it was really starting to piss me off and it’s all fixed now. This is, of course, an integral part of the internet. You get the chance to do all of this great fancy stuff but don’t forget that it’s ultimately run by machines. And while all of the machines in the world generally do their jobs as instructed, they also tend to use any free time they have to commit as many random and unpredictable acts as possible. The result is, you spend more time fixing things instead of doing what you actually set out to do in the first place. This is why I have been fiddling around with computer stuff instead of writing nonsense. And that is why over the last month or so Burning Salad has been pretty crap (to write as well as to read). But hopefully that’s the last of the glitches dealt with since switching server and I can get back to talking rubbish again.

In the meantime, it seems that the number of visitors has withered somewhat. Maybe I should adopt that tried and tested strategy traditionally employed by failing magazines and give away a free gift. Plans for making your very own life-size wolf out of macaroni and glass beads. Something like that.

There used to be a picture of my cat Shape here. It was another test photo from my phone. It’s gone now because out of context it wasn’t especially representative of his cat based antics. Never mind. He doesn’t. Here is a photo of his balls instead.

This is another crap post where I’m just testing stuff out. So I might as well put it to good use and mention Wonder Showzen. I always was (and still am) a big fan of Sesame Street, but this is something else.

There used to be a picture of a rainbow here. The reason that there used to be a picture of a rainbow here is because the function to post to Burning Salad from my mobile phone seems to have malfunctioned. This in itself has got nothing to do with rainbows. The rainbow certainly didn’t cause the malfunction… and I really doubt it appeared as a result of it. It was just a test photo and now it has been removed because rainbows are, by and large, boring.
